Alan Kell is an international consultant on innovation and change management at the dynamic interface between information technology and the built environment. He specialises in creating the vision, understanding and partnerships to deliver buildings that meet the emerging needs of the 21st century.
Since 1980 he has been working at the forefront of systems innovation in buildings, initially with major corporations including Xerox, Shell, BP and KPMG, and subsequently as an international consultant and programme manager for a wide range of private and public sector organisations.
In 1996, along with Nicholas Thompson, he launched the INTEGER action-research programme, initially in the UK and subsequently in Hong Kong and China. He is now managing director of INTEGER Intelligent & Green Limited and a director of INTEGER China and INTEGER Ireland.
In 1998 he established i&i limited, Europe’s leading intelligent buildings consultancy, in partnership with Allan McHale and Peter Colebrook. Together they provide a unique range of professional services in market research, strategic technology consultancy, and market development.
He is in great demand as an international speaker on intelligence in buildings and has held a series of leading industry positions including convenor of Intelligent Buildings 2005, The World Forum for Building Innovation, Executive Director of the European Intelligent Building Group (EIBG), and Chair of the MSc in Intelligent Buildings at the University of Reading,.
His formal qualifications include a management diploma from INSEAD, a Master of Science in Operational Research, and a BSc in Economics and Statistics.
