Mr Khoong Hock Yun joined Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) in 2000 and is the Assistant Chief Executive heading the Infrastructure & Manpower Development Group. He is responsible for developing and building critical infocomm infrastructure and manpower capabilities to generate economic growth for Singapore. Through his scope of work, Mr Khoong furthers Singapore’s ambition to be one of Asia’s most dynamic and vibrant infocomm hubs. Mr Khoong has an exciting and varied high technology and business career spanning over 20 years, both in Singapore and Internationally (Europe and USA), having taken on varied roles and responsibilities in research and development, project management, business development and senior management. Before joining IDA, Mr Khoong held senior management positions in Mentor Graphics Corporation heading one of Mentor Graphics’ global business units, responsible for its world leading data management products and services in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) market. Prior to his senior corporate management role, Mr Khoong was Director of Engineering. Prior to joining Mentor Graphics, Mr Khoong was with Singapore’s Ministry of Defense where he started his career developing advanced military flight simulators and developing operating systems for real-time super-minicomputers. Thereafter, he was concurrently Programme Director for large-scale Command, Control and Communications projects and Head of R&D for Defence Science Organisation’s Software Engineering Laboratory. Mr Khoong holds Master’s degrees in Engineering and Business Administration from the National University of Singapore.
