Singapore is the first country to announce a nationwide free wireless broadband network. Despite the small size of the country, this initiative is revolutionary in many ways, as the availability of Internet on a truly pervasive manner will bring about many unforeseen opportunities in the world of M2M. This session will present wireless operators who are implementing this network to discuss how the network can be used for a new array of connectivity of devices in buildings, within neighborhoods, transportation systems and other venues.

Since the commercialisation of the Internet, most Asian countries recognises the importance of an efficient communication network that can support the growth of the economy. The masterplan resulted in the national broadband network infrastructure for countries in Asia. This year Singapore celebrates its 25th year of Infocomm Development. As part of its celebration, the IDA or Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore has launched a new IT masterplan – the iN2015, which stands for Intelligent Nation 2015. The main focus of the masterplan is to provide next generation broadband network access nation-wide so that Infocomm usage and applications can penetrate all sectors in Singapore. The session would discuss the various items in wireless broadband network infrastructure including Broadband Network Technologies, Broadband Network Security and Broadband Applications. A group of experts share ideas and experience with audience where all can actively interact with Q&A.
